Day trip format
A sierra run is a single day out of Madrid, built around the road rather than a fixed itinerary. For drivers looking for mountain roads near Madrid, we run five core routes — Navacerrada, Puerto de Cotos, M-601, Rascafría and Puerto de la Morcuera — each with its own character, from tight hairpins to long open sweepers. Every outing lasts between 4 and 8 hours, depending on how much road you want to cover and where you start from.
The route is matched to the car, not the other way round. A Navacerrada pass drive in a supercar is a different proposition from a Range Rover touring Rascafría, so we talk through distance, traffic and your comfort on mountain roads before confirming the plan. First-time mountain drivers usually keep to a single pass and back; experienced drivers with a full day can link M-601 through to Puerto de la Morcuera.
Most runs start early, ahead of weekend traffic on the passes, and the exact departure time is set at booking to suit the car, the season and the group. Each day trip from Madrid by sports car is planned individually: there are no fixed-departure convoys or public meet-ups, only a route and schedule built around your day.

Sierra runs: questions
What licence do I need for a sierra run?
You need to be at least 21 with 2 years on a full licence for the standard fleet. Top-tier supercars require a minimum age of 25 and 3 years' licence experience, which we confirm when the booking is made.
How do you decide which route and car suit my day?
We work from the time you have, your experience on mountain roads and the number in your group, then propose one of the five sierra routes and match it to a car from the garage. A short first outing might stay to a single pass; a full day can link two or three roads.
Can I book a car for a day out around Hoyo de Manzanares during a mountain sports weekend?
Yes. We can build a scenic countryside route that takes in the Hoyo de Manzanares area as part of a wider sierra loop, timed around whatever else is happening nearby that weekend. It books the same way as any other sierra run, through the enquiry form.
Do I drive the car myself on a sierra run?
Sierra runs are self-drive. Chauffeured hire is arranged separately for business transport, not for the mountain routes themselves.
What if the pass is closed or the weather turns on the day?
We check conditions on the specific roads before confirming departure, since passes such as Navacerrada and Puerto de Cotos can close in snow or ice. If a route isn't safe to run, we propose an alternative road or a different date.
Can I stop for photos or a break along the route?
Yes, the route is a plan, not a fixed schedule. Stops at viewpoints or towns along the way are part of a normal sierra run and are agreed as part of the itinerary.
Before your sierra run
Sort the car and the paperwork out ahead of time so the day itself is just driving.
